Mt. Dutton Railway Siding - old grave
During the construction of the now abandoned Ghan Railway and during
its operation, many workers either died or were killed.
There are many old graves tucked away in the most unlikely places
along the old Ghan and without doubt many of them have been forgotten
and relatives could scarcely know of their existance.
The railway was abandoned in 1981 and by 1987 virtually all useful
materials had been salvaged. Within six years the line looked like
it had been abandoned for a hundred years.
