Red Barred Dragon
Ctenophorus vadnappa
The stunning Red Barred Dragon is rare in the Oodnadatta Track
region but it has been found near Hermit Hill about 60km west of
Marree and in the headwaters of the Screechowl Creek.
If you are travelling to us from the south and passing through
the northern Flinders Ranges, you will have a good chance of seeing
C. vadnappa there as this is its home range. They are most
commonly seen stalking insects coming into drink around rock holes
and water pools.
