Long snouted dragon
Amphibolurus Lophognathus
This attractive reptile is restricted to well vegetated water courses
and is not commonly seen.
It is extremely quick moving and spends most of its time foraging
in trees.
Despite its agility however it is possible to slowly approach a
stationary Long Snouted Dragon and eventually get close enough for
a photo like this one.
The males are particularly colourful (like all male dragon lizards)
during their breeding periods.
