Andy Smith used to work on Macumba Station.

This is one of our favourite photos. It shows the old campaigner Andy Smith taking a well earned rest on a similarly weathered bronco panel. Andy's hair and the old panel are almost as one, both having spent an equal amount of time out in the sun, wind and dust.

A bronco panel is used to assist in the branding operation. Bronco horses drag unbranded cleanskin cattle up to the panel where they are wrestled to the ground by a team of stockmen armed with knives, dehorners, branding irons and a collection of ropes.
